Guide to Mental healthIt is a long pain to live on this planet. Especially if you are one of the species that reasons e.g. a human. You could cry for help, and you would easily get some drugs from a kind psychiatrist. But drugs just dope your senses and slow down your reasoning. If you’re about to end it all in a bloody and painful way. Then yes, it would be the right solution to get some drugs.

My way of keeping my mind healthy from the worlds pollution is some basic rules. These rules are not voodoo magic, it is modern well-documented science. If you’re already on drugs, don’t just quit them. You are addicted to them, and the abstinence’s surely kills you or make you even more sick. Instead slowly reduce the medication while you increases the alternatives.

Do remember: we can all have bad days. You’re not necessarily depressed because your sad. We live in a world where everlasting joy is the goal. But how would you enjoy the day, without the night? For your own sake do some research on metal diagnoses and then decide when you should be worried or you should rely on drugs.

The rules. They shall be used in combination:


If you aren’t mental healthy you can’t off cause not stay healthy. So lets begin with the treatments. There are several treatments of mental disorder without drugs. The most common known therapy is talking to a psychologist or group therapy, but beware of false prophets. Instead of drugs you can often calm down your nerves with acupuncture. There is a special mental acupuncture discipline called NADA. NADA can also be used as acupressure – small balls fastened to your ears, which you can activate through the day. Not as affective as acupuncture, but calms you immediately. Also special massage can be used as an urgent drug to calm down. Depression can also be eased with sunlight therapy. These methods are all scientific proved to work.


Hard exercise and fitness a couple of times a week frees the brains natural endorphins. Endorphins are used in psychotropic drugs. I work out three days a week for 1-1½ hour. But less can do. The most important is to get the pulse up, get breathless and sweaty a couple a time a week.

I also just walk some trips a day out in a nearby forest. Sunlight is common known to prevent and ease depression. But lately scientist also suggests that lack of smell and other stimulation of senses can cause mental disorder.

Exercise also gives extra energy to handle the weeks task. Also larger muscles burns more fat, when you’re relaxing.


It is vital for a good mental health to get the right nutrition. Especially B- and D-vitamins are vital to keep the head high. We also gets D-vitamins from the sun. But omega-3 are also supposed to be vital to. 20% of the brain is build by omega-3. It is proven that you stay happier, learns better and remember better if you get at least 1g omega-3 a day. Omega-3 is proven to increase the results of antidepressants. It is not yet proven that omega-3 is antidepressant, but nor has it not been proven that it doesn’t. Omega-3 is naturally found in fish. It is absolutely best if you can get your nutrition through a normal diet. Diets doesn’t mean sad and boring food.

Overweight is a common disease of our consumerism. But it is not hard to loose weight. I loosed 55 pound on a year by changing my diet to a normal common sense life style. I started by get out of my sugar addiction. There after I was not in desperate need of sweets every day. I decided to only put something inside that was meaningful to me. I stopped eating sweets which didn’t satisfied me. There was something like chocolate and cake, which would be to hard to miss. So I decided most evenings that coffee was enough. Then once a week I bought a cake. A really delicious cake. The cake I liked most. And because I only get the cake once a week, I enjoy it even more.

But beware to look like a supermodel is not healthy. Trust me I have worked in the fashion industry.


At least one hour a day you shall mentally and physically relax. Don’t do things that you shall think about like books or tv. Lay on the sofa and listen to music, play music, paint or do light gardening. Preferable just do nothing. Try to look at meditation and mindfulness or similar.

Also try to follow the daylight changes. In the morning you shall have a lot of light and high tempo music to kick start the day, but in the evening reduce the light and listen to soft music. Try also to install the software f.lux. The computer screen are designed to look like the sun. But when the sun is down, your screen will get a blue glow, which is very hard for your eyes. F.lux fixes this.

It is important to have an active lifestyle where you feels satisfied. Do some meaningful for your self every day. It is important to have good relationships, a meaningful work or other

content. Life should be funny and joyful most of the times. Don’t dwell in to much worries. Your days may sometimes be busy, but never ev

er stressed. Stress is poison to your mind.

Religion and life values

Live by your religion or life values that give meaning to you. Seek like minded and read writings that give your life meaning. Also read and listen to other point of views, that you disagree with. It only makes you more aware of your own values.
